Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United are interested in signing Italian defender Fabrizio Cacciatore, according to TuttoMercatoWeb via West London Sport.

Fabrizio Cacciatore

The Chievo man, who is currently on loan with Sampdoria, is reportedly interesting the Championship duo as they look to add defensive steel to their squads in the summer.

Cacciatore, who plays predominantly as a full back, has spent his entire career in Italy, including numerous loan spells since beginning his career with Sampdoria.

He has made well over 200 career appearances but has yet to represent his country, apart from at Under 18 level when he was first breaking into first team football.

Both clubs may face competition though for the defender, as Lazio have also entered the frame for his signature and the lure of playing in the Italian captain may prove too much for Cacciatore to resist.

He has made 17 appearances for Chievo this season, helping them to a solid mid table position of 12th.

Leeds United take on Nottingham Forest this weekend in what is sure to be a feist affair between two clubs with passionate Scottish managers, while QPR take on play off chasing Ipswich Town looking for a first home win under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
