Leeds United and Middlesbrough are interested in signing Joe Bryan from Bristol City this summer, although the Robins are yet to receive any bids for the left-back.

According to a report in the Bristol Post, Leeds and Boro are very interested in signing Bryan this summer, as they look to solve their respective problems at left-back ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Bryan has impressed during his time at Ashton Gate, establishing himself as one of the best left-backs outside the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has made well over 200 appearances having come through Bristol City’s academy, with his form last season in the Championship putting Lee Johnson’s side in play-off contention.

In 43 league appearances, Bryan scored five goals and registered three assists, helping Johnson’s side to 11th.

A further five appearances came in the Carabao Cup, with Bryan scoring two goals in that competition, as the Robins reached the semi-final.

Bryan scored in Bristol City’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United in that memorable cup run.

Alongside Leeds and Boro, there is Premier League interest in the left-back, but Bristol City are yet to receive any bids for Bryan at this stage of the summer.

The Verdict

Joe Bryan is probably the best left-back in the Championship, with his form over the last 12 months really impressive.

Seven goals is an impressive return for a full-back, whilst defensively, Bryan is improving all the time.

Left-back has become a problem position for both Leeds and Boro, which needs resolving this summer.
