FLW have been informed from a club insider at Forest that the 23-year-old is due to hold talks with Huddersfield Town over a season-long loan at the John Smith's Stadium, but that move could now be jeopardised with league rivals registering their interest.

Paterson joined Forest in 2013 from Walsall and has gone on to score 13 goals in 66 appearances but has found himself frozen out at the City Ground by current boss Dougie Freedman.

He is contracted with the Reds until 2018 but Freedman is willing to loan out the winger as he is not apart of his plans, and it seems if Michail Antonio leaves before the deadline, they would be still willing to let Paterson leave.

Huddersfield had been interested in the Coventry-born player when he was at Walsall, where he started his career and scored 16 goals in over a century of appearances for the Saddlers, but were priced out of a move and the winger eventually joined Forest.

Paterson scored 12 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions during his first season at the City Ground, including a hat-trick in a 5-0 romp over West Ham United in the FA Cup, but he only found the net once in 25 outings last season with most his appearances coming from the substitute bench.
