Kiko Casilla’s red card in Leeds United’s defeat to Sheffield United last time out only added to Marcelo Bielsa’s woes, with the Whites now without the Spaniard this weekend when the take on Millwall.

Leeds will be expected to turn to a figure that started the season as their first choice goalkeeper, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell in line to make his 28th appearance of the Championship season.

Peacock-Farrell hasn’t featured for Leeds since January’s defeat to Stoke City, but he’s returning to the starting line-up this weekend on the back of some good preparation, having helped Northern Ireland to two wins at the beginning of their qualifying campaign for Euro 2020.

There were some difficult moments for the 22-year-old – with the Belarus goal last night looping over his head after a wicked deflection – however, on the whole, Peacock-Farrell looked assured and ready to return to first-team action for Leeds.

He’s got plenty to prove against Millwall, as mistakes were creeping into his game when Leeds signed Casilla and installed him as first choice, but some good outings for Northern Ireland give Peacock-Farrell the springboard needed.

Of course, it is the crunch time of the season in the Championship and Peacock-Farrell will have to be flawless against a Millwall side sure to target him. But, again, you should be backing him after his international performances.

There was a superb save in injury time of last night’s 2-1 win over Belarus, with Peacock-Farrell ultimately rescuing a big two points for his country in the closing stages.

And that should be what gives him and Leeds big confidence ahead of his return this weekend, with Peacock-Farrell looking to have the bit between his teeth.
