Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson has posted an update on social media, as he begins pre-season training.

Many of the Leeds players returned to training at Thorp Arch earlier this week, as the club began their preparations for the new season.

Edmondson is one of the young players who will be hoping to get a chance in the first-team at Elland Road next season, after a prolific campaign for Leeds' under-23 side.

The 18-year-old scored 19 goals last season as Carlos Corberan's side won the Professional Development League title and reached the semi-finals of the Premier League Cup.

The striker posted his photo on his personal

Edmondson has made two substitute appearances for the Leeds senior side so far in his career and will be hoping to get another chance in the first-team next season.

The Verdict

I'm sure Edmondson will have enjoyed his well-deserved break, but it must be good for the player to get back to pre-season training and he is clearly motivated, judging by his latest social media post.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa has shown throughout his time at Elland Road that he is prepared to give young players an opportunity in the first-team and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Edmondson gets his chance to make an impact for the senior side.

All he can do now is focus on working hard in pre-season training and hope that he gets a chance to impress Bielsa in the pre-season friendly matches.
