Kun Temenuzhkov scored a spectacular goal in extra-time as the Leeds United Under-23s booked their place in the Professional Development League play-off final with a 3-2 win over Coventry City at Elland Road on Monday night.

The 19-year-old has had an outstanding season for the Leeds Under-23s, helping Carlos Corberan's side win the Professional Development League North title and reach the semi-finals of the Premier League Cup.

The Bulgarian-born forward showcased exactly what he is capable of with his goal and has got Leeds fans excited about the prospect of him one day featuring for the first-team on a regular basis.

Temenuzhkov has made one substitute appearance for the Leeds first-team so far in his career, coming of the bench for the final eleven minutes in the 2-1 defeat to QPR at Loftus Road in the FA Cup third round.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa has given academy players Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton a chance to prove themselves in the first-team and Temenuzhkov should be encouraged by this.

Temenuzhkov is an exciting young player and could have a big future ahead of him at Elland Road, if he continues to perform the way he has done so far this season.

It is only a matter of time before the forward is given another chance to prove himself for the first-team, but he has to be patient.

The best thing he can do now is concentrate on his football, in the hope that he will get another opportunity and when that chance comes, he has to be ready to take it.
