Leeds United ace delivers passionate social media post

Pierre-Michel Lasogga has delivered a social media update to Leeds United’s supporters, accompanying a picture of him celebrating his goal against Sheffield United at the weekend.

The German striker has taken to his personal Twitter account to share a picture of him celebrating against the Blades, accompanied by the word ‘MOT’ – an abbreviation of Marching on Together.

Lasogga equalised for Leeds shortly after half-time on Saturday, with the 26-year-old’s powerful header cancelling out Billy Sharp’s spectacular first-half opener.

Ultimately Lasogga’s effort counted for nothing, with Sharp doubling his tally and securing all three points with a late penalty.

Lasogga’s header was his eighth goal of the Sky Bet Championship season, with the striker’s recent performances improving dramatically.

Despite the on-loan striker looking a rejuvenated character, Leeds’ performances continue to dip, with the Whites without a victory in almost two months, which has seriously dented the club’s play-off hopes.

Saturday’s defeat left Leeds in 11th, eight points adrift of the top-six, who have opened up a considerable gap to the Whites now.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side are back in action on Sunday afternoon against Bristol City at Elland Road.

The Verdict

The passion in Lasogga’s celebration on Saturday showed how motivated he is to make the most of the second-half of the season.

The striker has been exceptional in recent weeks, and is beginning to look like a striker capable of leading the line in the Championship.

Whilst he has been good, Leeds need more from the striker if they are to keep their fading play-off hopes alive.
