Speaking to BBC Leeds following Leeds United’s final game of the season, Chris Wood has confirmed he wants to remain with the club and help them back to the Premier League.

Wood has been in sensational form for Garry Monk’s side this season, and scored his 30th goal of the campaign in yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.

The 25-year old’s form is expected to make him hot property during the upcoming transfer window, but Wood insisted he wants to help Leeds back to the top-flight and build on the foundations set this season, he said:

“This is a huge club and I want to be like the Duke (Mark Viduka) and become a household name. I want to take Leeds up, I was hoping it would be this year.

“We’ve got the foundations laid and we have to build for next season.”

Despite an impressive campaign, Leeds will be disappointed with their seventh-placed finish, having gone agonisingly close to securing a place in the Sky Bet Championship’s Play-Offs.

Monk’s side have recorded just one victory form their final eight league fixtures.
