Redfearn has the backing of the players

The young left-back turned midfielder has a lot to thank Neil Redfearn for, he gave him his first team place after former captain Stephen Warnock was sold to Derby County.

Taylor, who's goal at Hillsborough on Saturday ended a dreadful streak of five losses in a row, has given Redfearn a vote of confidence and claims that "everyone at the club" is backing Redfearn to keep his job and brandished it a "no brainer".

Taylor's equaliser on Saturday was proof of a fantastic second half display that saw Leeds come back to a resounding 2-1 victory in the Yorkshire derby, with Steve Morison scoring his second in two games for the club.

Taylor is one of five young players to feature for the first team this season, with the likes of Sam Byram, Alex Mowatt, Lewis Cook and Kalvin Phillips all impressing for the Elland Road outfit.

Each of these players have been coached through the youth ranks by Redfearn himself.

Speaking about Redfearn's future, Taylor said to the YEP: "hopefully he's here next season and we can give it a real good crack. He's handled it all brilliantly. Nothing seems to faze him".

After the match on Saturday, 4000 Leeds United fans showed their appreciation for the Leeds boss and his players. Taylor had this to say; "Obviously you can see that the fans are behind him and every one of the players is behind him. That win's for Neil and the fans as well".

Leeds have had a very tough season and again it's been off field issues that have hindered the clubs form and forced Redfearn to be quick on his feet.

On the current off field issues, Taylor commented; "you've just got to try and forget about it and do your best. I don't see why we can't make a big challenge next season, with a few good signings. We've just got to try and look forward".

Wise words from the 21-year-old in his first full season at Elland Road.

Most Leeds fans will be looking to the future, not just for news on Redfearn's future but also to see what players will arrive this summer.
