Adam Forshaw has confirmed that he’s on the right track as the Leeds United man works his way back to fitness following season-ending surgery.

Leeds have been without Forshaw since September, with a niggling hip injury resulting in the 28-year-old needing surgery that’s subsequently ended his season.

Amid the suspension of football until April 30th at the earliest, Forshaw has offered an insight into his surgery and recovery.

“I’m seven weeks since the operation now which was a success and everything is going well,” Forshaw told the Whites’ official website.

“I feel good, I’m on track so far and the plan was always to be ready for the start of next season.”

Whilst Forshaw is targeting a return next season and unlikely to feature again this season, despite the fact the campaign is likely to spill into the summer, his update is an encouraging one.

“I’m due to be off the crutches shortly and then it will be a case of building strength up,” Forshaw continued.

Despite the absence of Forshaw since the loss at Charlton Athletic in September, Leeds have motored on in the Championship promotion race, with only nine games separating the Whites from a Premier League return.

When Leeds can resume their assault on promotion is anyone’s guess, however, with the EFL on hold and no resume date confirmed.

The Verdict

It’s good to hear that Forshaw is on the right tracks. The last few months will have been a nightmare for him and he could’ve let things get on top of him.

Now, he will see light at the end of a very long tunnel and will be looking forward to letting his football do the talking again next season.

Leeds’ fans will want nothing but the best for the midfielder.
