After yet another mid-table finish at Elland Road, the Leeds United faithful will be hoping for some reinforcements to bolster their squad going into next season.

Whites boss Paul Heckingbottom may have looked like facing the sack not too long ago, but with the fans slowly getting on his side, this may be the most important transfer window for the Peacocks in their recent history.

Slowly becoming known as a middle ground Championship club, their signings this summer will indicate how they will look as a team going into this season coming.

Whilst a lot of transfer going in to England’s second division are from the leagues below, the Premier League fringe players might just be the answer for Heckingbottom’s side.

So, here are five Premier League players who are a perfect fit at Elland Road.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper found himself as back up to loanee Orestis Karnezis at Watford in the final couple of month of the season.

While age isn’t on his side, the Brazilian has produced moments of magic for the Hornets in recent years, including securing promotion to the Premier League.

With a leaky defence, Leeds United are in desperate need of a solid, experienced shot stopper, and that can be found in Heurelho Gomes.

Kyle Bartley is a name that Leeds United fans only know too well, after his loan spell at Elland Road last season.

This campaign has seen Bartley take to the field 12 times in all competitions for Swansea, and has yet again been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea may be having a clear out during this transfer window, and Leeds United should be looking to snap up the 26-year-old.

Harry Wilson, who spent this season on loan at Hull City, could fit very nicely into Paul Heckingbottom’s front line.

The 21-year-old winger is on the books at Liverpool, but has never made a senior first team appearance for the Merseyside team.

The Welsh international made 17 appearances as a Tiger this season, scoring eight goals and chipping in with three assists.

The 28-year-old became a fan favourite at Vicarage Road at the beginning of this season, but found game time hard to come by under the reign of then manager Marco Silva.

Okaka, who has started just three games this season in the Premier League for Watford, is a strong and powerful striker with a knack for finding the back of the net, and would make the ideal striker in the Championship for Leeds United next season.

Connor Goldson has only played eight matches in all competition this season for a Brighton and Hove Albion side that finished 15th in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old signed for the Seagulls in 2015, but has become somewhat of a fringe player, making just 32 appearances in his three years at the Amex Stadium.

The young centre back has tough competition for places in Chris Houghton’s side, but would make a great signing for Leeds United.
