David Prutton is predicting another three points for Leeds United against Luton Town this evening at Elland Road, in his latest Sky Sports prediction column.

The Whites saw their promotion hopes given a real boost at the weekend as they brushed aside Fulham on Saturday afternoon, just a day after Brentford had set West Brom back by beating them.

They are firmly in the driving seat in the race for promotion at the moment, then, and it looks as though Prutton is thinking they'll take another step forwards towards the Premier League tonight against the Hatters.

He said:

That was a huge win for Leeds against Fulham on Saturday. They got battered at times in the first half after taking the lead, but Marcelo Bielsa's changes at the break paid off and it was comfortable in the end. It kept the daylight between themselves and the chasing pack.

Luton did brilliantly to claim all three points at Swansea. It is four points from six now under Nathan Jones from two tough games and they will have real hopes of survival. They will give it a good go at Elland Road, but I feel they may come unstuck. 2-1.

The Verdict

Luton have been impressive since the restart and will be looking to make things tough for Leeds this evening but it might just be a bit too much to ask of them to get a win.

Of course, stranger things have happened - especially in the Championship - but Leeds are going for the title now and after beating Fulham their tails should be up.

Over-confidence needs to be avoided - and surely will be given seasons past - and so you can see where Prutton is coming from with his prediction.

Luton will be tough to beat, but Leeds are naturally favourites to win this one.
