Leeds United are looking to end 2017 on a high this afternoon as they travel down to the Midlands to take on Birmingham City.

The Whites have had a pretty interesting season so far under Thomas Christiansen with them playing some good football but also capable of getting into ruts.

Even so, they are playing some nice stuff at the moment and are in good form so a win today will leave them well in the play-off places.

Things are looking settled ahead of the January window, then, but one thing that might take fans by slight surprise is Felix Wiedwald's admission that he would be open to a return to Werder Bremen in the future.

The goalkeeper was signed in the summer from the German side and has played regularly - despite a few mistakes.

He would consider a move back there in the future, though, with him telling Bild - via Inside Futbol:

"I could imagine a third stint in the Werder goal.

“Werder will always stay inside me.

“I remain a fan who still follows their games and looks for them in the league table.”

So, whilst it isn't imminent that the 'keeper is going to leave Leeds, it is clear that he would fancy going back there in the future.

It remains to be seen, then, if and when that happens and how that impacts the Whites.

The Verdict

Leeds have been good this season but Wiedwald has sometimes made the odd error.

He'll surely leave the club in the future, too, as that is usually what happens, it just seems strange to make such comments a few months after signing.
