William Carvalho is a target of Leeds United's this summer, though they may have to battle several Premier League sides for him, according to Spanish outlet transfer20.

The holding midfielder has played at the top level for much of his career, playing for some big clubs in Europe and also featuring regularly for Portugal on the international stage.

Indeed, he is a player of considerable class and Leeds are apparently keen on signing him from Real Betis this transfer window, though several top-flight sides are also taking a look at him.

According to the report, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves and Leicester City are all interested in signing the Portuguese and so a battle to sign him could well be on.

The Verdict

Carvalho is a proven player at the highest level and would surely be a good signing for Leeds United.

Fans will be wanting to see their side attract such players and, indeed, sign them this summer as they look to re-establish themselves back in the Premier League.

Certainly, it might not be easy with some of the teams also apparently in the race but Marcelo Bielsa is a big draw for players and we'll just have to see if it's enough for Carvalho to make the switch.
