Leeds United are refusing to play ball with Premier League teams interested in Jack Clarke, with the Whites reportedly slapping a £20m fee on the youngsters head.

According to the Daily Star, Leeds are holding out for a bumper payday should they decide to eventually cash in on their prized young talent, with the report claiming that owner Andrea Radrizzani will not entertain any offers below the £20m mark.

Clarke burst onto the scene last season under Marcelo Bielsa and put in some impressive performances as he showed Leeds fans and onlooking scouts just what he is all about.

There has been murmurs ever since the season ended that Clarke will be a man in demand, and with Spurs reportedly sniffing around, Leeds' latest stance will be a firm test of if the London club are serious about making a move for the young winger ahead of the next campaign.

Leeds are hoping to keep hold of their squad as they look to once again mount a run at promotion following Marcelo Bielsa's decision to stay in his managerial role at Elland Road.

The likes of Clarke and fellow in-demand star Kalvin Phillips are bound to be key cogs of any successful team Bielsa produces, and he will no doubt be delighted to see his board slap such hefty fees on the influential pair.

The Verdict

This is good from Leeds this and just what we want to see as fans of the Championship and what it brings.

Too many times we see Premier League clubs come in and snatch the best talent for under their actual value.

Clarke is worth this fee and possibly more in today's market, so it's a refreshing change to see a club actually take a stance against Premier League money.
