Leeds United have today announced that Paul Heckingbottom is the new manager at Elland Road after signing for the club from Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

It's been another whirlwind period in the club's recent history with Thomas Christiansen being sacked on Sunday night and the new man arriving earlier today in a very efficient turnaround.

Certainly, fans will be at least pleased it took quicker than last time to appoint a new boss but now the real work starts and our latest FLW Spotlight piece just goes to highlight where Heckingbottom needs to improve his side:

The glaring numbers first of all, of course, come under the red cards section of our infographic.

Whilst for yellows cards they are pretty much middle of the road in the Championship this season, it may come as no surprise to learn that they are rock bottom when it comes to discipline with red cards.

The Whites have totted up six so far this season whilst another came recently in the FA Cup for Samuel Saiz suggesting that Heckingbottom needs to nip this in the bud as soon as possible.

Defensively, they also need to improve.

Going forward the Whites, at times this season, have looked threatening and they have scored more goals than some above them in the play-off race.

At the back, though, no-one above them has conceded as many as their 37 goals and that is something Heckingbottom will need to sort out tactically, rather than being able to sign new players.

He's got a tough job on, and these are the areas where he needs to start.
