Leeds United have handed trials to a duo of young Polish stars ahead of a possible double swoop, according to a report by The Daily Express.

Polish youngsters Bartosz Boniecki and Hubert Sadowski will both spend time at Leeds United as the club runs the rule over the pair before deciding on whether to add them to their academy.

Both players are 17 and currently play for Pogon Szczecin, who are in the Ekstraklasa - the top division of Polish football.

However, neither player has featured for the first team yet.

Boniecki is an attacking midfielder with five caps for Poland's under-18 side while Sadowski represented Poland's under-15 team as a centre-back.

Investing in the academy is something which Leeds United are taking seriously at the moment.

In the summer, they snapped up a number of youngsters, such as Madger Gomes from Liverpool, Bryce Hosannah from Crystal Palace, Ousama Siddiki from Real Madrid, Ouasim Bouy from Juventus and Barcelona pair Kun Temenuzhkov and Oriol Rey.

Already this month, they have signed Ryan Edmondson from York City, HJK Helsinki's Aapo Halme, Gamba Osaka's Yosuke Ideguchi and Oliver Sarkic from Benfica.

They have been linked with Forest Green youngster Jordan Stevens and now Boniecki and Sadowski could be the next young stars through the door at Leeds.

The Verdict

Leeds are clearly trying to strengthen their squad for the future. A trial basis works for everyone as the young duo get a chance to impress while Leeds can assess them before making a move. Whether they will adjust to life in England is a different question but Leeds fans will have to wait and see if these players are up to scratch.
