West Brom re-signing Kemar Roofe would be a smart piece of business.

The Leeds United forward was the club’s top scorer last season and has attracted attention, including from his former club according to Football Insider. His return to the Hawthorns would be good business for Darren Moore.

Roofe was a rare bright spot for Leeds last season. He top-scored for the club with 11 goals in the league as well as a hat-trick in the League Cup against Newport County. It was the result of a shift in how he was utilised. His first season at Elland Road had seen him usually played on the wings, both left and right equally. However, in his second season, he was more often utilised as a centre-forward or on the right wing. This more consistent approach allowed him to find a natural rhythm to his game and paid off in goals.

The Baggies are well catered for up front. Both Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon - should they stay - provide sufficient firepower. However, they need more offensive options, particularly from out wide if they are to make a successful push into the promotion places.

Last season was one to forget for West Brom fans, but the matches played under Darren Moore’s command gave a reminder of some of the quality in this squad. Automatic promotion is not out of the question if the right players are brought in. Leeds will want to hold on to him, but, if Kemar Roofe can be signed, he is one of those players who could make all the difference.
