Leeds plotting emergency loan move for 28-year-old striker

Leeds United are planning on making a loan move for Norwich striker Kyle Lafferty, according to Talksport.

The striker is firmly out of favour with Alex Neil, and the signing of Patrick Bamford in the transfer window has pushed him further down the pecking order at Carrow Road.

The 28-year-old has made only one appearance this season, and will surely be desperate to get out on loan and get some game time under his belt.

His country, Northern Ireland, have qualified for the European Championships this summer and Lafferty will be desperate to be the man chosen to lead the line for them when they begin their campaign in France.

Leeds have been tracking the striker since the beginning of the window, and manager Steve Evans will be hopeful of completing a deal as he looks to add some firepower to his squad.

Lafferty started his career with Burnley before making a move to Rangers and making his name North of the border. He then moved to Italian club Palermo, before finding his way back to England with Norwich.

Leeds are currently just below mi- table in the Championship, and sold star man Sam Byram during the transfer window to West Ham United.
