The 20-year-old's enigmatic social media post comes after Bielsa told Leeds Live in a press conference that recalling loan players in January was a possibility if certain factors were met.

The Verdict

Amid his struggles at Fleetwood and on the back of Bielsa's comments, Edmondson's Instagram post looks to be a hint that he's keen to return to Elland Road next month.

Things haven't worked out the way he will have been hoping at the League One club and as with past loan moves, he's struggled to recreate the impressive form he produced in the Whites age-group sides.

What exactly the future will hold for him should he move back to his parent club is unclear, however.

The 20-year-old was once one of the club's most highly-rated prospects but with his contract set to expire in the summer, it seems unlikely that we'll see him in a Leeds shirt again.

The likes of Joffy Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood appear to be ahead of him in the pecking order at the Yorkshire club while five goals in 54 appearances across the past two seasons does not speak of a player ready to feature in the top flight.
