Championship leaders Leeds United are eyeing a sensational £20m double move in January as Marcelo Bielsa looks to improve his squad further.

After sealing the signing of Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla this week, it appears the Whites are not done with their January spending, and according to the Daily Star via Spanish outlet Pucela Fichajes, could make a £20m double swoop for Valladolid midfielders Toni Villa and Ruben Alcaraz.

The news of a potentially massive deal like this will no doubt send shockwaves through the rest of the division, with the Whites already looking like they are firm title contenders without the addition of such quality.

Both players play in the midfield area, with Villa being an attacking midfielder in the mould of star man Pablo Hernandez, and Alcaraz a player who spends his time putting in dogged work in the middle of the park.

It is reported that Leeds have sent scouts to watch the duo, with both players thought to have release clauses in their contracts around the £10m mark.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa is looking to kick on following a week of off-field controversy surrounding the club's spying on Derby County, and he will looking forward to seeing if Victor Orta can land the Spanish duo in the coming weeks.

The Verdict

Wow, what a stunning swoop this would be.

Both players have an abundance of quality and if Leeds can sign one or both, then the race for the title could be over.

While relative unknowns of the English game, Villa and Alcaraz are well known to followers of La Liga and they would be superb additions for the club.
