You didn't need the deductive abilities of Morse to work out that Leeds United were after a new winger in the January window.

The Whites were heavily linked with Daniel James in the market and it got to a point where the young winger was at the club and ready to join in with the promotion.

It did, however, go up the wall as it were, and the Whites now find themselves without a new winger - until the summer at least.

And, indeed, if they are still interested in another - Callum O'Dowda - as they were also in January, they'd better get their skates on.

Another player with rockets in his boots, O'Dowda has had a fine season for Bristol City as they themselves go for promotion.

According to the Irish Post, though, Premier League teams are looking to try and sign him up, meaning Leeds might well want to get in quick and whisk him away from the Robins.

The Verdict

Leeds are looking good for promotion - though so are Bristol City.

If O'Dowda is available, though, the Whites should seriously consider him - particularly if they find themselves in the top flight for next season.

Indeed, if they don't, they could well get pipped at the post.
