Adam Forshaw has revealed that Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa has changed the way he looks at football since the Argentine arrived at Elland Road in the summer.

Forshaw has appeared 26 times in the Championship under Bielsa this season, as Leeds push for a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Speaking about the impact Bielsa has had on him this season, The Yorkshire Evening Post quote Forshaw from the club's matchday programme from the 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday: "He's helped me so much.

"He's made me think about the game completely differently. I like to think I have a decent knowledge of the game, but he has widened my horizons massively."

Elaborating on the impact Bielsa has had on his all round game, the 27-year-old - who only made the move to Elland Road from Middlesbrough in January 2018 - added: "He's made me think, improved me in different areas and in more than one position, playing as a four or as an eight, or sometimes dropping in between the back two.

"I think going forwards, regardless of what happens in my career, I will take so much from him."

Under Bielsa, Leeds currently sit second in the Championship table, three points clear of the play-off places with four games of the season remaining.

The Verdict

Given the way Bielsa has lifted Leeds this season, and the attention he has garnered for the way he has approached the division in terms of tactics, preparation and sheer attention to detail, it is little surprise to read comments about him such as these.

The Argentine has rightly received a huge amount of credit for what he has done, but you feel that will be for nothing if his side fail to see out these final four games of the season.
