Leeds United midfielder Eunan O'Kane has revealed Paul Heckingbottom has made an positive impression on the players and praised how easy he makes the game for them.

The former Bournemouth man came in for Adam Forshaw against Brentford on Saturday and played a key role as the Whites recorded their first win under the new boss.

A goal from Liam Cooper was enough to get the three points but it was a very strong showing from Leeds at Elland Road.

And, O'Kane told the Yorkshire Evening Post that the ex-Barnsley man must take the credit for that.

"He makes everything black and white. It’s ‘you do your job, that’s what you’re responsible for’ and if everyone does their own job then we’ll be successful."

"If one person tries to do half of someone else’s job then that’s when errors start to come and that’s the big thing he’s been telling us. That’s your role, you carry it out and everyone else will look after themselves."

The win leaves Leeds just five points behind sixth position ahead of a crucial clash against Middlesbrough on Friday night.

The Verdict

Leeds fans will be pleased to hear that the players are taking to the new manager as they need everyone pulling in the same direction.

It's also clear that he is giving the players individual responsibility and that is another good thing as he looks for them to stand up and be leaders.

Ultimately, results will dictate if his appraoch is correct but so far there have been promising signs, with Leeds playing well and backed that up with a deserved three points against Brentford.
