Leeds United midfielder Eunan O’Kane issued a message from his Twitter account to celebrate last night’s victory over Birmingham City, and to praise Leeds fans for their turnout.
Over 31,000 packed out Elland Road to see the Whites climb to the summit of the Championship table, and a strong performance from O’Kane in the middle of the park helped to guide the club to victory.
The 27-year-old Irishman has started all seven of Leeds’ opening league fixtures, and his contribution in the middle of the park alongside Kalvin Phillips has been the platform from which the side has built their early success.
Another 3 points last night and another clean sheet. Winning ugly is what it takes sometimes. Over 31 thousand on a Tuesday night ????????????????#MOT

Yet to find the net, O’Kane has already provided an impressive three assists from his deep-lying role, and his ability to break up play and distribute the ball has become an integral part of boss Thomas Christiansen’s philosophy.
Touted as a potential target for other clubs in the summer, the former Bournemouth man has gone from strength to strength under his new boss, and is now undoubtedly one of the first names of the Leeds United team sheet alongside Philips and Pontus Jansson.
O’Kane performances in the middle have been a joy to behold, and the way he quietly goes about his business is reminiscent of some of the midfield greats.
The club have their eye firmly pointed towards the Premier League, and if O’Kane continues his fine form and remains fit, then the club will certainly be fighting for an automatic promotion spot by May next year.
Leeds fans, how important has O’Kane been to your early success?
