Leeds United manager Garry Monk is set to stay at the club, snubbing interest from Premier League Middlesbrough and Championshiop outfit Norwich.
According to the Daily Star, Leeds gaffer Monk is set to be offered a new deal by the club’s co-owners Massimo Cellino and Andrea Radrizzani, a deal which will see them trigger an option to keep Monk on a rolling contract agreed when he took over last summer.
It’s been a successful season for Leeds and Monk, and despite now looking like they are going to be missing out on promotion, Monk is happy with the way things have gone.
“I am not worried about my future or those discussions” Monk said. “Overall, it has been a really successful season. The disappointment has been the last few games, but I am incredibly proud of the group.”.
This news is bound to please Leeds fans, who after years of hurt, can finally be proud of their club once again following their most successful season since dropping down from the Premier League over a decade ago.
Leeds fans, what do you think to this? Is Monk the man to take you forward? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
