Leeds United youngster Lucas Odunston looks set to depart Elland Road in the coming weeks, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 18-year old signed a two-year scholarship deal with the club back in 2017, at the same time as Jack Clarke who has since gone on to become a revelation under Marcelo Bielsa.

The defender, though, has failed to make a first-team appearance for the Whites, after a hugely disappointing time with injuries over the last year or so which has subsequently halted his progress at Thorp Arch.

And after a turbulent spell at Elland Road, the club have reportedly told Odunston to find a new club, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

The youngster may not have to wait too long before finding a new club, though, with Leeds' Championship counterparts Hull City exploring the option of signing the 18-year old.

With just three games left to play this season, Leeds are back down to 3rd in the Sky Bet Championship table, after a bitterly disappointing 2-1 home defeat to 10-men Wigan Athletic on Good Friday.

The Verdict

This is hardly surprising, as it wouldn't shock many to see Odunston leave Elland Road at the end of the season.

Leeds have plenty of talented youngsters coming through the ranks, none other than Jamie Shackleton who has really impressed in Odunston's favoured position of right-back.

It will be very hard for him to make an impact in the first-team now, and it would probably be best for both parties if he left in the summer to make a fresh start elsewhere.
