Manchester City winger Jack Harrison has revealed he's learning not only from his current loan spell with Leeds United, but also benefits from advice and guidance from his parent club.

Harrison has been under-fire in recent weeks, but responded to his critics with a goal as the Whites beat Swansea 2-1 in midweek. All eyes were on the performance of Daniel James, but it was Harrison who lit up the game and impressed watching fans.

He's revealed that he studies videos of himself in action to improve, but not just those provided to him by Marcelo Bielsa's thorough backroom team.

“I get video from Marcelo’s staff,” he was quoted by the Yorkshire Post as saying. “There is also a team at Manchester City who watch the loan players. I get video and advice from them as well."

“I try to take in as much as I can from both sides, learn as much as I can. I definitely find the video useful. As young players it is so important to review your game and see what can be improved. It can help you in certain instances, make you think about what can be done better. I try to do it as much as possible."

The 22-year-old is on a season-long loan at Elland Road and has currently made 26 appearances, scoring three times. He's previously spent time on loan in America, playing for New York City in the MLS where he scored 14 times in 60 matches.

His goal in midweek helped the Whites to a 2-1 win which, coupled with Norwich's shock defeat at Preston, sent them a point clear at the top of the table.

The Verdict

There's no surprise that he's getting twice as much input as anyone else. Manchester City spend huge sums on their youth development and having a team watching the players out on loan, offering advice and guidance, is surely industry standard now.

As for his Leeds input, he'll learn off the pitch but there's nothing like playing 90 minutes of senior football to bring you on. He'll develop just as much for regular first-team outings as he will watching a video.
