Leeds United once again need to bounce back from a defeat as they take on Derby County at Elland Road tomorrow night in the Championship.

The men from Elland Road went into their game with Sheffield United with renewed confidence and on the back of a win but things fell flat on their face very early on in that game. Indeed, the men from Bramall Lane outworked them and outfought them to come away with three points, leaving Leeds fans concerned.

Indeed, once again we've seen worries about Leeds' physicality come to the fore and it remains to be seen if they can respond to the criticisms against a Derby County side in very good form. One man, too, who needs to respond is Matthew Pennington with him getting slated on Friday.

He's been speaking to the press today, too, but has come out on the front foot in making a pretty bold claim about Leeds' current standings in an attempt to spark some belief in the squad. As quoted by West Yorkshire Sport on Twitter, he said:

Certainly, Leeds are still in a good place but their form is not good enough to stay there and so it is time to reset and start again.

The Verdict

Leeds have been going pretty badly in recent weeks and their win over Bristol City looks a worrying anomaly.

Clearly, then, there is serious work to be done but they are still in a good position and they just need to believe in themselves and get firing once more.
