Skybet Championship promotion hopefuls Leeds United have joined the race for Swansea City's Gambian winger Modou Barrow, according to the Sun.

The 24-year-old winger has been linked with a move away from the South Wales side in this transfer window as Paul Clement looks to trim his side ahead of the second half of the season.

Barrow is likely to be a casualty of the regime change as he has been told that he will be allowed to leave the Premier League club.

The sudden availability of Barrow has attracted the attention of a number of Championship sides. Newcastle United and Aston Villa were the first clubs to express an interest.

However, Leeds United have entered the race as they consider making a move for the exciting Premier League winger.

Garry Monk's connections with Swansea City, which has seen Kyle Bartley and Matt Grimes join the club, could also see Leeds United profit with the arrival of Modou Barrow.

However, if Leeds United are to sign the 24-year-old winger, they may have to pay a fee in the region of £7 million to acquire the winger's services.
