Leeds in negotiations for defender Berardi

Leeds United are locked in negotiations with Sampdoria over the transfer of Swiss international defender Gaetano Berardi, reports Squawka.
The SkyBet Championship side have not yet agreed a fee with the Italian side for the 25 year-old, but Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds tweeted earlier today that the Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, who has arrived in Italy to join the club at their training camp in Italy, thinks that the deal will go through.
Berardi, who has won one cap for Switzerland back in 2011, is a right-back who would become Leeds’ sixth summer signing following the previous arrivals of Stuart Taylor, Marco Silvestri, Tommaso Bianchi, Jonathan Rossini and Souleymane Doukara.
