Leeds United have been handed a summer transfer window boost, after Leeds Live reported that Liverpool winger Ryan Kent is open to a move to Elland Road.

Football Insider have previously reported that the Elland Road side have made an enquiry about the possibility of a loan move for Kent, and it seems that the winger is also interested in the potential deal.

According to reports, Leeds Director of Football Victor Orta has held talks with Kent's representatives over a move to Elland Road, and the winger is thought to be interested in the move, although he has yet to find out what Liverpool's plans are for him going forward.

The winger spent last season on loan at Scottish side Rangers, scoring six goals in 43 appearances in all competitions, with manager Steven Gerrard previously admitting to the Daily Record that he was keen to bring Kent back to Ibrox next season.

Kent has made just one senior appearance during his time at Liverpool, in an FA Cup draw with Exeter City in January 2016, although the 22-year-old does still have three years remaining on his contract at Anfield.

The verdict

This certainly seems like a boost for Leeds.

You feel as though they need to bring in more attacking outlets if they are to challenge for promotion next season.

Kent is certainly someone who could do that for Leeds, and the fact that Steven Gerrard had been so keen to bring him back to Rangers is surely a promising sign for Leeds if they are able to complete the signing of the winger.

At 22-years-old, you also feel that Kent has to convince someone to take a more long term chance on him, and this season could be just the opportunity for him to prove that.
