Marcelo Bielsa has been handed a major boost ahead of their match against Blackburn Rovers this weekend with a trio of players returning to the matchday squad.

Pablo Hernandez, Gaetano Berardi and Kemar Roofe are all set to be involved in the trip to Ewood Park and their return can only be a positive for Leeds as they continue their quest for a place in the Premier League.

Roofe had been in the form of his life before he picked up an injury that has ruled him out since Leeds' goalless draw with Middlesbrough. He had scored four goals in just six appearances for Bielsa's side before he picked up an injury.

Hernandez has been in equally impressive form this season and has been ruled out of action since their 3-0 win away to Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The Spaniard had netted three times and provided two assists in only five games for the Whites and will be confident of picking up where he left off for the promotion hopefuls.

Berardi provides Bielsa with another defensive option which might be needed against Blackburn.

Like Roofe, Berardi hasn't featured since the draw with Middlesbrough, but he could be called upon with Pontus Jansson potentially missing out due to the imminent birth of his first child.

All three players will be crucial in the promotion run in and are likely to feature this weekend as Leeds travel to Ewood Park aiming to return to the top of the Championship table.

The Verdict:

I couldn't think of much better news for Leeds fans as their first game back after the international break approaches ever nearer.

Roofe and Hernandez, in particular, will be a huge boost to a Leeds side that you could argue have struggled for creativity and goals since the pair were ruled out through injury.

I think the trio's return will see Leeds pick up an all-important three points against Blackburn and they will be keen to put the pressure on the league leaders Sheffield United.
