The Sky Bet Championship season is at one of its most crucial stages now with the games set to come thick and fast in the coming weeks.

With both Norwich and Leeds boasting a healthy gap to the chasing pack, the pair will be hoping that they can seal promotion in 2019.

And, that said, the January transfer window could prove crucial in terms of their hopes - especially for the Whites.

With a squad that has been hampered by injuries, many feel that a few new faces arriving in the winter window wouldn't go amiss - yet Marcelo Bielsa has time and again said he is happy with his squad.

However, with them now down to one senior goalkeeper, it would seem that even the ingenious Argentine is now open to signing a new stopper - with today's printed Mirror reporting Keiren Westwood is a target.

The goalkeeper has been frozen out at Sheffield Wednesday and could join Leeds in January.

Reading this, then, Leeds fans should be delighted.

Whilst Bailey Peacock-Farrell is certainly a decent stopper a few errors have crept in at times - though that is to be expected given his age.

Without anyone to compete with him or replace him if he is injured - as has already been the case this season, though, Leeds are running too great a risk in not getting someone.

For sure, any sort of senior back-up would probably be welcomed but potentially the Whites would be getting one of the best stoppers in the division for a cut price.

The Whites are absolutely one of the favourites to go up this season and rightly so and, if they can bring in Westwood to compete between the sticks, the dream will only edge closer.
