As we approach the final stages of the Championship season, excitement and nerves are beginning to build equally at Elland Road as Leeds look to win promotion to the Premier League.

Norwich City and Sheffield United currently sit in first and second but just behind them are the Whites who will be desperate to return to the top-flight for the first time in 15 years.

Marcelo Bielsa must be credited with enormous praise after the job he has done at Elland Road.

Arriving in the summer with a dysfunctional squad and a frustrated fan base, the Argentinian has turned it all around with only a few tweaks to his first-team, becoming somewhat of a club icon in the process.

But he provided an update that will have caught the attention of fans for all the wrong reasons on Monday afternoon.

When asked about his future, Bielsa said that nothing will be decided until the end of the season when a discussion can be had on whether his targets have been met.

So, what should the fans make of these latest comments?

Frankly, they should be worried. It sounds very much like if the Whites want to keep hold of the former Lille boss then promotion needs to be achieved.

I cannot imagine it will be a case of Bielsa getting fired, more that it is unlikely that he will want to stay in the English second-tier for another campaign.

Leeds fans should now be sweating that if promotion is not achieved they will be dumped back to where they were last season, with near enough the exact same squad.
