Ben White has spoken about the impact that Leeds United fans have had on him already, revealing that he has never received such a large amount of attention in his career to date.

The Brighton and Hove Albion has been a revelation since signing on loan for Marcelo Bielsa's side, forming a solid defensive partnership with both Liam Cooper and Gaetano Berardi this term.

The 21-year-old enjoyed positive loan spells with League Two side Newport County and League One side Peterborough United before making the move to Elland Road, and he has seemingly stepped up to life in the Championship with ease.

Speaking to Brighton's official club website, the defender has spoken about the praise and attention he has received from Leeds fans already, revealing that he has never witnessed anything like it in his career.

He said: "I’ve seen the praise I’ve been getting since I arrived at the club and it’s obviously very nice.

"I haven’t really had that attention before, it’s a massive club – but I’m just focused on what I’m trying to do for the team, our aim this year is promotion and we all believe we can achieve that."

Leeds succumbed to their first defeat of the 2019/20 Championship season at the weekend, falling to a 1-0 defeat to Swansea City at Elland Road - Steve Cooper's side snatching all three points right at the death through Wayne Routledge.

The Verdict

White has looked like an excellent signing so far, and it's clear to see exactly why Bielsa wanted to bring him to Elland Road in the first place.

Defensively, Leeds have looked solid this season, and White's performances alongside Cooper have been second to none.

He's strong, quick and powerful and wins no end of aerial duels, but he can play the ball out from the back with ease.

He has a massive future ahead of him, and deserves a lot of credit for coming in and adjusting to life at such a big club so easily.
