Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United are interested in Roda JC Kerkrade left-back Ard van Peppen following the appointment of Thomas Christiansen as manager, according to Dutch outlet Roda JC Live.

The 31-year-old has become a keen target for the new boss and is likely to replace the departing Charlie Taylor, whom is doubtful of renewing his stay at Elland Road beyond this summer.

The 23-year-old has been stalling on a new deal at the Yorkshire club and is now just little over a week away from his current contract expiring, and with West Brom and Middlesbrough reportedly interested in the left-back, his future looks set to be away from Leeds.

Yet it appears that new boss Christiansen is planning for life after the young defender by reportedly eyeing up a move for Dutch full-back van Peppen.

The 31-year-old played 34 games in all competitions last term and was able to ply his trade at centre-half as well as full-back, standing at five-foot eleven-inches tall.

Leeds have only made one signing this transfer window so far, which was Hadi Sacko's permanent addition to the first-team, but it's thought that now a manager is in place, they could complete their business in the coming weeks.

Van Peppen began his career at Dutch giants Feyenoord prior to enjoying stints at De Graafschap and Excelsior before joining Roda JC in 2013, and with 380 club appearances during his career thus far, there's little doubt that he'd bring vast amounts of experience to the Leeds backline were he to move to Elland Road this summer.
