Leeds, Derby and West Brom eyeing transfer move for 7-goal playmaker

Leeds United are rivalling Sheffield United, Derby County and West Bromwich Albion in the race to sign West Ham United youngster Marcus Browne, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 21-year old has been influential on loan at Oxford United this season – scoring seven goals and produced four assists in 24 games for the League One side in all competitions this term.

To further his development even more, the Hammers could look to recall the youngster back from his loan spell at the Kassam Stadium, and send him out on loan to the second tier, with Leeds, Sheffield United, Derby and West Brom all pushing for promotion in the Championship.

The report also claims that fellow Championship sides Stoke City, Rotherham United and Bristol City are also interested in landing the exciting playmaker, but surely the lure of a move to Elland Road with Leeds sitting at the top of the table would be a deciding factor for Browne.

Leeds are in the market for a replacement for Samu Saiz, after the 27-year old recently departed for La Liga side Getafe, in a shock move away from Elland Road.

The Verdict

It was only a matter of time before clubs starting circling around Browne.

He’s far too good for League One and has contributed to many goals this season, in what is a struggling Oxford side.

He could prove to be the perfect replacement for Samu Saiz at Leeds.
