A trio of Championship clubs are in the hunt to sign George Saville from Millwall, according to reports.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Leeds United and Aston Villa are keen on Saville, while Sheffield United sent scouts to watch him in action against Middlesbrough yesterday.

The Northern Ireland international, who joined Millwall from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer in a bargain £350,000 deal, impressed onlookers as the Lions drew 2-2 with Boro.

Millwall stand to make a hefty profit on the 25-year-old if they do decide to cash in this summer.

Aston Villa could launch a bid after a recent takeover armed them with better finances, while Leeds are still searching in the transfer market with just days remaining.

Sheffield United could pip both clubs to Saville's signature as scouts were impressed by him.

The Verdict

The former Chelsea youngster is starting to show real signs of his potential and would be a great addition for any of these clubs.

For the Blades, he'd provide creativity in midfield; for Villa, he'd add legs and force Henri Lansbury out; for Leeds, he'd be an ideal replacement for Ronaldo Vieira.

With Adam Forshaw injured too, Eunan O'Kane frozen out and Luke Murphy recently released, perhaps central midfield is a priority for Leeds.
