Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa are among the clubs interested in West Ham United defender Reece Burke who could leave the Premier League outfit this summer.

The young centre-back has spent the latter part of the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and impressed, playing an important part as they stopped up on the final day in dramatic circumstances.

And, that hasn't gone unnoticed with the three big Championship clubs all showing an interest in the 21-year old according to the Mirror.

However, Glasgow Rangers, managed by Steven Gerrard, are also interested in Burke and that could provide an interesting option for the defender, with the Scottish side also competing in Europe next season.

The Hammers academy graduate has played 15 times for the club in his career but the report states that they are considering letting him leave on loan or a permanent basis.

Leeds, Villa, Rangers and Reading would be interested in taking him on a long-term deal, whereas the Owls would prefer bringing Burke to Hillsborough on loan.

Any decision on his future is unlikely to be made soon after the Premier League side parted company with manager David Moyes today.

The Verdict

Burke is a talented defender and showed his class at Bolton in a challenging environment given Wanderers struggles.

At his age, the player is sure to want regular football and that's not going to happen at West Ham so a move would benefit his career you feel.

Clearly, he is not going to be short of options if a move is sanctioned and there are plenty of good clubs interested in him.
