Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has provided an injury update on the progress of Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown ,who is yet to make a first team appearance since joining the club in the summer.

Bielsa has confirmed that the 22-year-old will need at least seven or eight U23 matches before he is ready for consideration for the first team, as reported by journalist Adam Pope on Twitter.

So is Izzy Brown proving to be a waste of a signing at Leeds?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes.

“He was meant to be fit by Christmas, then I could see the point.

“At this rate he’ll get 10 appearances from the bench, max.

“It’s been pointless him spending time at Leeds.”

Louie Chandler

"It certainly looks like it.

"By the time he has had those games there will only be a few weeks left of the season.

"If he scores the goal to take them up it will have been worth it but it is looking more and more like a lost cause."

Jacob Potter

"I have no idea why they signed him in the first place.

"He was injured when he arrived at Elland Road, so there were already question marks raised about this signing.

"But this latest development is hugely frustrating for Leeds, as he’s realistically only going to play two months of the season at best.

"It’s a complete waste of a signing."

Jay Taylor

“Start as you mean to go on – Brown arrived injured, and it has carried on from there.

“He’s made more appearances in the treatment room than he has for Leeds this year and failing to maintain fitness has been a real issue.

“The money could have been better spent – the medical bills probably cost more than the entire fee for the deal.”

Alfie Burns

“Leeds aren’t paying him any wages so it’s hardly a waste.

“If Leeds can get a handful of match-winning contributions out of Brown later in the season then it’ll all be worth it.

“You’ve got to look at the positives. Too many people aren’t focusing on the facts.”
