Leeds United have been busy this week in terms of transfers with them confirming the signing of Japanese midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi yesterday.

The Whites are clearly aiming to try and snap their targets up early, then, and it would appear as though they're going to have to act sharpish if they want to bring in left-back Declan John.

The Cardiff City defender is currently on loan at Rangers where he has had a fine season in contributing both defensively and offensively at Ibrox.

The Gers themselves might want to make the move permanent, then, whilst Football Insider is reporting that Reading have joined Leeds in the chase to try and sign him.

Certainly, we've seen that the Whites need a left-back this season with Vurnon Anita not really performing how he was perhaps expected to and Gaetano Berardi still a bit hit and miss, despite his great commitment to the club.

John might be the ideal signing to come in in January, then, but the Whites look set to have to fight for him.

Rangers could want to keep him, Reading apparently want him and parent club Cardiff City might decide that they want to give him another go, too.

It should prove an interesting story to follow, then.
