Leeds United will be looking to add some top names to their squad this summer after a tough 2017/18.

And, with Abel Hernandez apparently on their radar, it's evident that that is the plan too.

So, with fellow suitors Wolves going for Benik Afobe and Aston Villa seemingly struggling financially, are the Whites now in the box seats for the Uruguayan? We look...

Alfie Burns

You’d think so, but I think Leeds are going to face some stiff competition from abroad.

If Hernandez wants to stay in England, then Leeds now looks like the obvious choice, but I think Hernandez’s decision could be driven by money.

If that is the case, I can see him moving out of the country.

Jay Williams

You would have to say Leeds are in pole position now. Aston Villa surely cannot afford his wages unless they ship a number of players and they don't really need to strengthen up front anyway.

Wolves will sign Afobe as a back-up and look to spend big money on a first-choice striker so the path has been paved for Leeds to complete this deal - and it is one they desperately need!

Chris Gallagher

Without a doubt.

You can't imagine Wolves will go for him now they have Afobe as they will want a proven number nine who can play in the top-flight. Whereas, Villa have no chance of affording him now.

It's still a battle to convince him to come to Elland Road but two big rivals appear out the running.

Ben Barkworth

Leeds should be seen as heavy favourites because this is a golden opportunity for them to bring in a top striker. They can't afford to let him join a division rival.
