A trio of Championship clubs are weighing up late window moves for Peterborough United star Marcus Maddison, according to HITC Sport.

Leeds United, Reading and West Bromwich Albion are hoping to snap up the 24-year-old before the window slams shut this Thursday.

Posh have transfer listed their star midfield man to give him the chance to play at a higher level, after he once again impressed in the 2017/18 season.

Last term, the former Gateshead man scored 10 goals and grabbed a remarkable 21 assists and he is hot property this summer.

With 42 goals and 46 assists in the past four seasons, Maddison has consistently shown his talent at League One level and could now move up to the Championship.

The former Newcastle United academy player predominantly operates as a winger or as an attacking midfielder but he can operate deeper in the midfield and even plays as a left-back occasionally.

The Verdict

Maddison would be an asset for all three of these clubs.

At Leeds, he would provide extra legs in midfield, which may be needed with Bielsa's high-intensity playing style as he will need quality options for rotation.

At West Brom, he could replace Matty Phillips or Nacer Chadli while Reading's midfield would be vastly improved with Maddison's extra creativity.
