Both Leeds United and Sheffield United didn't have the most promising of weekends, with the Blades drawing 0-0 with rivals Wednesday, while Leeds were smashed 4-1 by West Brom last night.
The Yorkshire duo remain firmly in the hunt for Championship promotion though, and with a few tweaks in January, there is a high chance that both could well be in the top six come the end of the season.
However, there is definitely room for improvement in both squads, and with today's news from Alan Nixon that Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke is set to leave on loan, we think the young striker would be a good signing for both sides.
The pacey Englishman has failed to break into the first XI at Anfield despite showing plenty of promise, and a loan move in the January window would make plenty of sense, despite Nixon claiming that the likes of Crystal Palace are interested in signing Solanke.
Sheffield United especially could do with someone with some pace up front, as was evident during their 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night.
For Leeds, the reliance on Kemar Roofe is becoming a bit too much, and with Patrick Bamford injured until the new year, then signing someone of the quality of Solanke would be a superb move by the Whites.
Either way, if Solanke is to move, both Yorkshire clubs represent a good opportunity to get first team football and get amongst the goals for big clubs with high ambitions.
Leeds and Blades fans, what do you think, would Solanke represent a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
