According to the printed edition of today's Mirror, Norwich City, Leeds United and Sheffield United are all looking at the ever improving Jon Nolan at Shrewsbury Town.

The Shrews have been one of the stories of the season in the third tier of English football with them keeping their promotion challenge up for the whole of the campaign.

Even if they don't go up, though, Nolan could find himself in the Championship next season with three clubs sniffing around him at the moment.

Norwich are currently leading the race for the midfielder who has scored seven goals and assisted six from his position in the middle of the pitch but both Leeds and the Blades are looking at trying to get in on the action.

Nolan has enjoyed arguably his best season to date after previous spells lower down the leagues following his release from Everton at the beginning of the decade and this summer could see his next step up.

The Verdict

Nolan looks a bright player in the middle of the park and he is really starting to get himself a reputation in League One.

He's scored and assisted plenty this season for the Shrews and though he'd be making a large step-up wherever he went, he'd surely be able to adapt.

Norwich lead, then, so let's see if they can make that count.
