Liverpool midfielder Yan Dhanda is attracting interest from a trio of Championship clubs, according to The Daily Mail.

Bristol City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are set to go head to head in the battle to sign Liverpool starlet Yan Dhanda.

Dhanda is considered to be one of the brightest prospects in the Liverpool academy at the moment.

After joining from West Bromwich Albion at the age of 14, Dhanda penned a professional contract with Liverpool two years ago.

This summer, the 18-year-old has been training with the Liverpool first team squad and has impressed Jurgen Klopp.

Eligible to play for both India and England, the England youth international is considered as a creative midfield play maker with bags of technical ability.

His preferred role is in the number 10 position, just ahead of the midfield and behind the striker, but he is also able to play deeper or as a winger.

Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City are all set to make a move to bring Yan Dhanda in on loan.

Although he is yet to make his senior debut, the Birmingham born midfielder is held with high regard by Liverpool.

Whether Liverpool will let Yan Dhanda leave on loan remains to be seen.

The talented teenager only has one year left on his current deal and they might be afraid to lose him next summer.

The Verdict

Signing Yan Dhanda on a loan deal would be a risk considering that he has never played senior football before but these moves quite often pay off.

The young midfielder would undoubtedly benefit from a year in the Championship rather than just playing for Liverpool's under-23 side and that is where Liverpool will find out if he is ready to make a step up to senior football.

They could throw him in the deep end with a six month loan and then assess whether to offer him fresh terms after that.
