Leeds United and Middlesbrough could be set to do battle for Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah.

According to a report in the Hull Daily Mail, via Bristol Live, the pacey wide man could be set to make a move away from Villa Park in January, with promotion contenders Leeds and Boro both hoping to snap up the former Bristol City man.

Adomah was a wanted man in the summer, and despite featuring enough times this season for Villa to warrant being a key member of the squad, there is every chance he could well be tempted with a move away from the club in the winter window.

Both Leeds and Middlesbrough are right up there in terms of the promotion race, and would see Adomah as an excellent addition to their squads as the promotion race begins to hot up in the new year.

Adomah has already had a spell with Middlesbrough, making in excess of 100 appearances following a move from Bristol City, before making the switch to Villa Park back in 2016, where he has once again gone on to make plenty of appearances, with over 80 in the bank for the Villans.

The verdict

This is certainly an interesting one, and Adomah would be quite the signing for both Leeds and Boro.

Plenty of experience, quick, and still with plenty to offer, Adomah would fit in with both clubs with ease.
