According to Football Insider, Leeds United and young starlet Jack Clarke have agreed a deal that the player will sign when he turns 17-years-old later this month.

The young striker has impressed amongst the Elland Road's younger sides this season and has apparently agreed terms for a senior deal that he can sign before too long.

Certainly, this is promising news for Leeds fans as they are always looking to bring through young players that know the club inside out thanks to working through the different age groups.

Indeed, the likes of Charlie Taylor is perhaps the best most recent example - despite how that ended - and Clarke will be hoping to become a senior star with the Whites before too long.

Leeds are clearly underlining their commitment to bringing through youth players with this move too.

It recently came to light that the club is going to increase the amount of players it brings in from the local area and the UK to the academy at the club.

And, though Clarke is already in the set-up, this is a message to young players that, if they're good enough, they'll be given the chance to progress in West Yorkshire.

The Verdict

Leeds have got a good commitment to young players and that has been demonstrated once again with this story.

Of course, fans want them in the Premier League most of all but, after that, bringing through good young players is pretty high on the list.
