Lee Tomlin reacts to Cardiff’s draw with Wigan

Cardiff City made it seven points from their last nine available at the weekend with a battling 2-2 draw against Wigan Athletic in the Welsh capital.

A Josh Murphy strike and an own goal from Kal Naismith cancelled out Kieffer Moore’s brace to settle the scoreline at the Cardiff City Stadium, on an afternoon where the Bluebirds twice came from behind.

Neil Harris’s side are now seven games unbeaten in the Championship and move up to 9th in the league table – just three points off the top-six.

Attacking midfielder Lee Tomlin played the full 90 minutes for Cardiff City, but did not have one of his better games in a blue shirt.

The 31-year-old took to Instagram to react to the team’s performance and the full-time result, and here is what he had to say:

Tomlin said “let’s keep this going πŸ’ͺβš½πŸ’™” in response to Cardiff taking seven points from their last nine on offer.

He is keen for the side to continue their positive momentum ahead of their next Championship fixture against Stoke City on February 22nd.

The Verdict

Tomlin had a rare off day for Cardiff City at the weekend, as the attacker was not able to get into the game.

Despite that, the 31-year-old’s remarks suggest that the confidence is brimming in the Cardiff changing room at present, with no defeats in their last seven league games playing a massive part towards that.

Two difficult tests now await as the Bluebirds make the trip to the bet365 Stadium to face Stoke this coming Saturday, followed by a clash with Nottingham Forest at home shortly after.
